Being a comedian is one thing, but being a racist is another

What will be your reaction when you heard or read an article about racial discrimination? About someone’s nationality, or even worst, your country being insulted?

Are you just gonna sit around and do nothing? Now check this out:

Well, let me first define discrimination. According to Wikipedia.org (an online encyclopedia), discrimination is a sociological term referring to the treatment taken toward or against a person of a certain group in consideration based solely on class or category. Discrimination is the actual behavior towards another group. It involves excluding or restricting members of one group from opportunities that are available to other groups.

How about this so-called Racial Discrimination?

Racial discrimination is treating people differently through a process of social division into categories not necessarily related to races (Wikipedia.org).

I’m pretty sure you’re wondering what’s with this post, well actually, this is about the popular American Comedian and Television Host discriminates against Manny Pacquiao and the Filipinos.

I got these information from yahoo news (much credits to http://www.examiner.com/x-21442-Sacramento-Fight-Sports-Examiner~y2010m4d1-Popular-American-comedian-and-television-host-discriminates-against-Manny-Pacquiao-and-Filipinos, since yahoo got this news from that link).

So here’s the thing:

Adam Carolla, a popular American comedian and television host, went on a vulgar tirade about Manny Pacquiao, the Philippines, and Filipinos. Now, I’m familiar with some of Adam’s work but I feel that his comments about Manny and the Philippines were uncalled for and absolutely discriminating. Let’s examine further,
Pacquiao Blood Testing

Adam Carolla starts off his vulgar tirade by bashing Manny for not giving blood before a fight. He then proceeds to say that Manny is off “praying to chicken bones” and that you don’t have to respect him because he’s a “fu**ing idiot”. “Someone has to tell him that it doesn’t make a difference.”

The Philippines

The following are quotes from Adam Carolla about the Philippines.
“Here’s how you know when your country doesn’t have a lot going for it: When everything is about Manny Pacquiao.”
“Get a fu**in life as a country”
“All you fu**in got is just an illiterate guy who happens to smash other guys in the head better than other people”
“Really, you want some guy with brain damage running your country? Why don’t you get your sh*t together?”
“All they have over there is Manny Pacquiao and sex stores.”
“What happens when Floyd Mayweather beats him? Does your country go into depression?”

Are you still going to relax and just chill out when your country, your race is being discriminated by someone?

Well for me, I find his comments absolutely insulting and discriminating. Who do he think he is? And mind you, its my first time to hear his name. Is he that popular? I dont think so. What does this man know about the Filipinos? Did he master the Philippine history? Or just visited my country? What does he meant that Manny Pacquiao is all we’ve got? Well, for his information, there are many Filipinos that obtained degrees higher than his! And lot smarter and respectable than he is.  My Advice, click the search engine Mr. Comedian and search the history of my country or better come over here and let’s have a cup of tea (just to know who we really are). One thing is for sure, The Philippines will not tolerate racial slur, prejudice and discrimination of its people.

As what Mr Rick Rockwell concluded:

I find Adam’s comments to be absolutely repulsive. They are racist, degrading, and discriminating at best. It horrifies me that people of this mentality have such a large platform to express their flawed logic and ignorant opinions.
I don’t see any humor in how he bashed the Filipino people for supporting Manny. I don’t see any humor in how he discriminated against Manny and en entire country. These comments are disgusting.
I would also love to see Adam be held accountable for these comments. A formal apology is necessary on some level. Being a comedian is one thing, but being a racist is another. I can remember when a popular American comedian used the N-word in his stand-up routine and was practically chased out of the building and prosecuted by the media. Where are these people now?

Warning, the following audio of Adam Carolla contains vulgar language and racial comments that might not be suitable for minors.

Feel free to post your comments/concerns about this post. thanks.

  2. Too bad. Comedians like him do exist. However let’s take his words towards our country as a sort of challenge. Let us prove him wrong of his little knowledge ’bout our dear country. Start it within yourself. hehehehe… Gb..

  4. Poor ADAM! Well, people like you (Adam) should understand first our culture before you lambastes us with so many insults. Now I don’t know about you (ADAM) being a famous one (i doubt if you are really famous), but I will punch someone in the face if they said something like that to me, be it a Filipino or not. Let say, “Balat-sibuyas lang ba ako kung ayaw kong tinatawag na bansa ng mga p*ta ang bansa ko?” F**K OFF! There’s a huge difference between a harmless joke and a blatantly racist comment.

Oh! by the way, Thailand and the Philippines are two different countries you moron!!! (BETTER CHECK GOOGLE)

  5. To start with:
    1. It doesn’t make you weak to give blood a month or week before your fight. And that just makes Pacquiao guilty.
    2. We do overdo things in the Philippines. Like com’on some people are even voting him to be part of the people to govern the country.

    And against Adam:
He does not know anything about the Philippines. Where did he hear those things he just uttered? From pure hearsay, television and tabloids? Com’on everybody knows not everything on those contexts are even 100 true. He should know the country first hand to be able to give criics about it.
He is bothered by the fact that the “chicken-bone-praying-people” are defeating his people (I meant the ones he got his eye and prolly money on!). He is just hurt! Hurt that Filipinos are taking over the belt just cause we are from the 3rd world.
Plus. You don’t need to have brains to “smash other people’s head.”
